I published a post on my personal site this morning about using the Extension Developer's Extension and Firefox 3. There's a feature that doesn't fully work in Firefox 3, for installing development versions of an extension. But, if you load Firefox 2 and install it, the settings will carry over into Firefox 3. This particular feature has been very useful to me in working on the Zentact extension, as well as other extensions I've been working on. :D
